Exciting careers are available in the NSW Public Oral Health Service across the State. Services are delivered via eight Area Health Services, Justice Health and the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
The NSW Health Jobs site provides currently advertised positions. You can search by Area Health Service and then choose "Dental".
In addition, Oral Health Managers in each Area can also be contacted directed regarding roles that are currently not in the advertising cycle.
NSW Oral Health Workforce - New Initiatives
The NSW State Government has invested new funding into the expansion of the oral health workforce in NSW and vacancies exist in all Area Health Services for Dental Officers, Dental Therapists, and Oral Health Therapists, as well as other clinical roles. The 2008/09 Budget sees the NSW Government invest a further $4 million in recurrent funding to strengthen public oral health services in NSW.
These funds will be targeted at the recruitment and retention of public oral health practitioners, particularly in rural and regional NSW.
This will be achieved via an award restructure, linked to a package of related initiatives including rural dental scholarships, a NSW Dental Therapist Reconnect Program, upgraded clinical facilities and an expansion of the NSW International Dental Graduate Program.
